Sana hindi mapako. This is the response of human rights groups and relatives of political prisoners to the government promise to release 32 political prisoners within a month starting April 5. The phrase is from the Filipino colloquial term “pangakong napapako” which means a broken promise.No comments

As a child, Lent was not my favorite time of the year. It is a week without cartoons on T.V.; a week less playing for children. Church processions, masses and the pabasa–all these are associated with what I call then as a gloomy and boring season. One could not compare this day to the joyous gift-giving activity during Christmas, or to the delightful dating on Valentine’s.No comments
